Kids Christmas Craft With Carboard Paper Tubes

We have been busy the last days, since Christmas is on our doorstep! One of the craft we did was making some christmas people out of cardboard paper tubes! Those are so versatile, I did never thing about them that way.

You can use whatever tubes you can find, from paper towel rolls to toilet paper rolls everything goes. We also used some googly eyes, but you can paint the eyes on. So, you’ll need, other than the tubes and colored paper, glue and scissors and maybe some items for decoration.

When you’ve decided what you want to make, measure the paper and cut it the length of the tube. Then put some glue on the tube and wrap it with the paper. If you don’t have colored paper, just paint on some plain white paper. Or you can paint directly on the tube or even use it as it is.

The tubes can also be used to create wreaths or ornaments and some even use them as gift tags, napkin holders or treat or gift boxes; when they are beautiful crafted and decorated that is.

This beautiful wreath is easy to make. Who could imagine what you used for them?

If you take just one of those “flowers” and use some glitter, they can become ornaments for your tree!

Here are some instructions on how to make little santas to use as gift tags or ornaments, even to hold some treat or gift themselves. You can see also a little gift package out of a plain tube tied beautifully with a ribbon. Aren’t they just adorable??? And they are so simple to make!!!

Perfect gift and craft idea: DIY snow globes

Diy snow globes
Hand-made snow globes (image source)

Here is such a great idea for handmade Christmas gifts!!! Make your own snow globe, even with a picture in it! Isn’t it the perfect gift for the grandparents or to put on your desk? I love this idea! The kids can help choosing the items to put inside and the colour of the glitter! I am sure going to make some of these! This will be fun!

All you need are some jars with lids that it seals good. You can use any jar you have in the house, any size, any width.

Then you will need some water-resistant items, like from plastic etc. that will fit easily in your jar.

You can even laminate a picture and put use that as decoration! Make sure you have a tied lamination, so they will not be penetrated by water.

Next you will need some water-resistant glue.

Glue the items on the jar lid, taking care to leave room, so that you can screw the lid easily.

Let the glue dry and check that everything sticks to its place. Next, fill the jar almost to the top with water.

You can add (optional) some glycerine or baby oil, too. Add glitter or artificial snow.

Now, screw the lid tightly on the jar. You can glue it or put some insulating tape around the lid, but keep in mind that you will not be able to open it if you want to make some corrections or change the water.

Now, decorate the jar – even paint on it – and you are ready!

Amazing pine cone roses to make with your toddler

Now, tell me. Isn’t that a beautiful idea? And easy (I love easy!!!).

What do you have to do? Well, first, grab a lovely bag (some have a special “treasure bag”) and then take a nice walk with your kids, gathering some well-shaped pine cones and suitable wooden twigs. While gathering, try to get writ of all the seeds that could be in the pine cones. Back at home, the next fun step can begin! Painting!

Take all the possible measures to avoid getting paint all over your place (hint: you’ll never get 100% protection!). And then just paint the pine cones together with your kids in bright colours and the twigs dark green (or whatever your kids want, why should they be restricted?). Toddlers can help just as well, just use some appropriate colour material. The result might not be that nice as in the picture, but, really, who cares about the results? It is all about the fun!!! Next step is to make the leafs, two for each rose are enough. Just get some paper and paint. Then cut out the leafs. Ready! The last step is to put it all together. The suggestion is to use a hot glue gun and glue for doing that.
